An truaghan bochd x 2

The latest MPs expenses files which we're ploughing through show that Angus MacNeil (SNP, Na h-Eileanan an Iar) was allowed to submit his expenses forms late, having written an email to the fees office in which he points out that he lives in the Outer Hebrides so it would not be "environmentally sensible" for him to deliver them by hand.

He wrote that he is a "parent with a young family" and that it was to his "utter shock" that he was told he had to "subsidise his job to the tune of a thousand pounds" when the deadline passed.
Perhaps the fees office were merely testing the postal system in the Western Isles when Mr MacNeil asked for, and received, a "quick response to this surprising and tense situation".

Meanwhile new boy Lindsay Roy (Glenrothes) has had a claim for a £24 Babybliss hairdryer cruelly rejected by the Fees Office.

  1. "Meanwhile new boy Lindsay Roy (Glenrothes) has had a claim for a £24 Babybliss hairdryer cruelly rejected by the Fees Office. "

While Quentin Davies is awarded £20,000 to repair his mansion bell tower. The fellows working on the Fees Office seem to take a scattergun approach to what they approve and reject.

  2. To give him his due, Angus "Toblerone" MacNeil really knows how to spend our money.

If I read this right, some hotel expenses were disallowed for lack of evidence that they were for justified and they were never resubmitted. That makes the original claims false, doesn't it?

And Mrs MacNeil is his invisible constituency worker, the highest paid but with no contact details available.
